Very cool website, and very informative article! I repinned it as well as went over to Facebook and liked your page, as I hope to continue to see more craft projects like this in the future.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say one of my favourite art projects is the SLR camera strap cover. It's easily made with any possible colour combinations, and it gives a photographer (such as myself) a bit of personalization for their camera.
I LOVE your blog!! Thanks so much for all the time and efforts you put into it!
ReplyDeleteI love crafts of all sorts, but one that works well for Christmas that I taught my mom (who doesn't sew) is the no-sew fleece blanket. It's so easy just to cut a fringe and tie it together that one year she picked out different fun fleeces for each grandkid and made them a blankie. They love them!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this contest!

ReplyDeleteA favorite gift I made for Christmas 2010 was a vinyl monogram mounted on canvas (basically decoupaged onto the canvas) and then I trimmed the canvas with a basic ribbon for hanging. If I had a pic, I'd post it....but I don't. The gifts were simple and fun to make, and those that received them seemed to like them a lot.

Love the set - what a cool idea Jill! (from Beth F. Owatonna!)
ReplyDeleteOK, I "liked" you on FB and now I need to share an idea of crafting things I've done. For my Grandmother who has a small apartment and doesn't have a lot of "needs", I have made greeting cards. She likes to send cards for all occasions and goes through them quickly. I especially like to use ribbon on my cards. I have found some that already has double stick tape on the back and the rest I use some kind of adhesive. (Beth F. Owatonna - again!)
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog posts! They are always interesting and entertaining. I "liked" your facebook page and share the link on my fb as well. The favorite gift/craft that I have made for Christmas gifts were some t-shirt scarves that I made for my friends. (Thank you Pinterest for the the great idea!) They were so much fun to make out of different colored t-shirts and different scarf styles. I also accessorized a few of the scarves with a flower pin that I made from the coordinating t-shirt fabric. Thanks! (Jill Streetman)
ReplyDeleteI liked you on Facebook. I enjoying seeing all the things you guys make, wish I were more creative. Thanks for sharing! (Sandi Beam)

ReplyDeleteI like you on facebook already
I shared this post on facebook.
I just made a chalk board out of a picture frame, first I painted the glass using chalk board paint, then took zebra ribbon and hot glued it around the frame. It turned out super cute and is great for writing little notes on it.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite project I made recently was finding a thrift store mirror and putting a vinyl saying on it. Jill, you did a great job!
I don't know if I'm crafty enough to make this. I hope I win the one Jill made! Nice work! Judy Allen
ReplyDeleteI guess I should have checked the rules before I posted my comment above! I have liked your facebook page previously (hope that counts). I have made what I call potpourri globes by taking a round clear glass bowl with a rippled edge (available at Michael's, Joann's, thrift stores, etc.), adding potpourri interspersed with a 10 light strand of battery operated Christmas lights (keep the battery pack out of the bowl so you can change the batteries as needed). Once the bowl is filled with potpourri and lights (spread out so they can be seen on all sides of the globe), I thread a string of elastic and a separate length of satin ribbon through the holes of an 8" round lace doily (pinning both to a safety pin and threading that through the holes works well). I center the doily over the opening of the globe, then use the elastic to cinch the sides of the doily to the globe. You can either tie the elastic in a knot or in a bow if it's a color (I can usually find gold). I tie the ribbon in a nice bow to finish it off. Judy Allen
ReplyDeleteI put the laynard how-to on pinterest (and I made it this weekend for what it is worth!) Very cool idea :-)

I think your ideas (all the collaborators) are amazing! My entire family were recipients in the making of gifts. I LOVE my apron (and so does Nicole) and my son still happily runs around the couch with his super Caleb cape on :-) Must say that I am jealous of all the creative bones in your bodies :-)
ReplyDeleteOf course, I've "liked" you from the beginning.
I will share this post of FB immediately!
Thanks again for all the wonderful posts. Keep it up!
