Baby "Oscar's" Nursery Preview

As we are now in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, my husband and I have been busily getting the nursery ready to welcome our little man home (henceforth referred to as "Oscar" - real name not yet disclosed). We wanted to create a room that was comfortable and welcoming, and incorporated black and neutral-colored nursery furniture with sports decor. This way we (hopefully) shouldn't need to redecorate when he reaches Junior High - the furniture can be used if our next child is a girl. I hope you enjoy a sneak peak into the nursery of Baby “Oscar.”

The idea for the panels on the wall came from Sarah’s previous post $7 Wall Art. The missing panel (missing since we are keeping his name a secret) on the wall has his first initial in buttons, an idea found on Pinterest.

The smaller fabric totes were a pattern also found through Pinterest from radcrafter.com. They are a simple pattern and can be very cost effective when the materials are purchased during sale times or with coupons from your local fabric store.

The Ikea dresser was half-off of the list price on Craigslist.com (a great place to go when looking for good, used, inexpensive furniture). I wanted to create a keepsake for our son, so I also made the quilt for him. And as a bonus, it adds some much-needed color to the room.

This chair has been sitting in the corner of our living room not receiving much use, so we decided to enhance the comfort of the nursery by utilizing it in this sitting area.

Now....the wait for his arrival!
